Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty Suite, Romeo & Juliet

Conductor Seiji Ozawa elicits one of the Boston Symphony's more enthusiastic and sincerely committed performances of the last 20 years in this solid rendition of Tchaikovsky's timeless but often sloppily performed masterpiece. The beloved "character dances" are performed with the kind of style and exceptional ensemble precision worthy of one of the world's most mature and capable orchestras. --D.V.
