Elgar: Cello Concerto; Dvorak: Silent Woods

"She balances of warmth and melancholy moving between glowing and thoughtful music making, her soulful sound permeates the moments of intensity." --Generalanzeiger, Germany

In addition to Elgar's famous Cello Concerto, the album is further enhanced by beautiful new arrangements of poetic, shorter works by Elgar, including "Salut d'amour," "Sospiri" and "Capricieuse", and romantic pieces by Antonín Dvorák and Ottorino Respighi.

The limited first edition of this album is released with a bonus CD featuring the spectacular composition "Gramata cellam - a book for cello solo," by the Latvian Peteris Vasks which Sol Gabetta often plays as an encore and her fans have reportedly been requesting on CD for a long time.
